1.1 The Society shall be known as The Royal British Club Golfing Society (“the Society”).1.2 The Society operates under the umbrella of The Royal British Club, Portugal and is not an entity or separate organisation in it’s own right
1.3. The purpose of the Society is to organise golf tournaments, social events, and related activities for the enjoyment of its members, conducted in a friendly, sporting, and respectful manner.
2.1 Membership is open to individuals aged 18 years or over.
2.2 All applicants for membership in the RBCGS must be either new or renewed members of the RBC. Proof of an active RBC membership is mandatory at the time of application or renewal.
2.3 Applications for RBCGS membership will not be processed unless the applicant's RBC membership is current and verifiable by way of an invoice number which you must enter into your:
o Application details; or
o your profile on renewal; or
o by selecting your RBC membership level above.
2.4 Membership in the RBCGS shall remain valid only for the duration of the applicant's active RBC membership. Should RBC membership lapse, RBCGS membership status will be subject to revocation.
2.5 Applicants may be required to provide supporting documentation or confirmation from the RBC to establish eligibility for RBCGS membership or renewal.
2.6 Membership is subject to approval by the Society Captain or Committee.
2.7 The Committee reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership without obligation to provide a reason.
2.8 By submitting an application for membership or renewal to the RBCGS, the applicant acknowledges and agrees to abide by these terms and conditions.
4. Membership Fees3.1 The Society may offer the following membership categories:
- Single Playing Member
- Couples Playing Members
- Couples Playing Member and Social partner member
- Social Member
- Social Couples Members
- Honorary Members
3.2 Categories may be added, deleted or modified at the discretion of the Society Captain or Committee
4.1 Annual membership fees shall be determined by the Captain or Committee and communicated to members in advance of each season.
4.2 Membership fees are payable by the stated due date and are non-refundable, except at the discretion of the Captain / Committee.
4.3 Failure to pay fees by the due date may result in suspension or termination of membership.
5.1 Membership runs from 1 February to 31 January unless otherwise stated.
5.2 Renewal is subject to payment of the annual membership fee and approval by the Captain / Committee.
6.1 Members may participate in Society competitions and events subject to availability and payment of any applicable entry fees.
6.2 The Committee reserves the right to set:

7.1 Members must hold a valid and active handicap recognised by WHS / FPG / Equivalent body, unless otherwise permitted.
7.2 The Society may adjust or apply handicaps for Society competitions at its discretion to ensure fair play.

9. Guests8.2 Any behaviour deemed inappropriate, abusive, dishonest, or damaging to the reputation of the Society may result in disciplinary action as determined by the Society Captain / Committee.
9.1 Members may invite guests to Society events subject to availability and approval by the Captain / Committee.
9.2 Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests.
9.3 Guests must comply with these Terms & Conditions and the host club’s rules.
10.1 The Committee may investigate any alleged breach of these Terms & Conditions.

11.1 Members participate in Society activities entirely at their own risk.
11.2 The Society, its Committee, and officers shall not be liable for:

13.1 These Terms & Conditions may be amended by the Society Captain / Committee at any time.

14.1 In the event of dissolution of the Society, any remaining funds shall be distributed in a manner determined by the Committee, after settlement of liabilities.
