The Redondo Cooperative Winery is one of the most important wine-producing institutions in the Alentejo region and a symbol of the collective work of the region's winegrowers.
Founded in Alentejo in 1956 Adega Cooperativa de Redondo will celebrate its 70th aniversary next year. The creation of the winery had as its main objective to unite local farmers in a cooperative structure, allowing them to improve production conditions, transform grapes into quality wine, and guarantee greater economic stability for the region. From the beginning, the Redondo Cooperative Winery has played a fundamental role in the rural and social development of the municipality.
Located in the heart of the Alentejo, the vineyards benefits from exceptional natural conditions for viticulture: a hot and dry climate, varied soils, and great sun exposure. These factors contribute to the production of intense, balanced, and characterful wines, typical characteristics of Alentejo wines.
Over the decades, the Redondo Cooperative Winery has modernized its facilities and winemaking techniques without ever losing respect for tradition.
Currently, it brings together nearly 200 members and produces between 9 and 12 million litres of wine per year. Recognized in Portugal and worldwide, especially through its emblematic brand "Porta da Ravessa," a strong ambassador for the quality and authenticity of Alentejo wines, the winery also produces, alongside this benchmark brand, a diverse portfolio of wines under different brands, including Real Lavrador, as well as AR, Anta da Serra, Maré Viva, Latitude, Longitude, Albarrada, among others, many of which are consistently distinguished with national and international awards.
Redondo Cooperative Winery represents not only the history of wine in the Alentejo, but also the value of cooperation, community work, and the preservation of the region's cultural identity.
